McDonald’s customers in Summerville have been seeing McDonald’s new Crispy Chicken Sandwich for about a year now but Jim Aaron, owner of the Summerville McDonald’s, says that the product is now being launched nationally.

The Summerville McDonald’s was one of two of the first stores in the nation to feature the sandwich.  Aaron helped pilot the new offering in conjunction with is position on the McDonald’s National Menu Team.

Aaron tells WZQZ News that the new crispy chicken comes in four different offerings including on a scratch-made biscuit. All four offerings  featuring a 4.75 ounce cut of chicken which Aaron said is much more substantial than the former chicken sandwich offered for decades by the fast-food chain.

According to Mr. Aaron, chicken surpassed hamburgers in per capita consumption.

Aaron says that the new products will make McDonald’s a major player in the constant race over the “best chicken sandwich.”
