On Friday, both local school systems released reports on the number of students and staff who have tested positive for COVID over the past week.  Chattooga County Schools were reporting a total of 102 new COVID cases and Trion City Schools were reporting 25 cases.

Menlo Elementary School continues to be the hardest-hit school for the percentage of students and staff reporting new COVID cases.  Menlo reported 5.01% of their faculty and students with COVID-19, with a total of 20 positive cases for last week.

Chattooga County Schools are moving to a new hybrid-schedule that will start tomorrow.  Students in the county school system will have virtual learning on Mondays and Fridays and in-person instruction on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

The new hybrid schedule will be in place until February 22nd.
