Longtime Chattooga County Clerk Martha Tucker passed away after an extended illness on Sunday.  Mrs. Tucker served in the county commissioner’s office under four different commissioners: Jim Parker, Mike Dawson, Jason Winters and current County Commissioner Blake Elsberry.

Chattooga County Commissioner Blake Elsberry issued the following statement on Sunday:
It is with great sadness that we report the passing of long time County Clerk Martha Tucker.
Martha served 34 years as County Clerk with dedication, integrity, and with the utmost commitment to her community and the citizens of Chattooga County.
This is a great loss for our office and her absence will be felt for years to come.
