A massive amount of rain moved through Northwest Georgia on Saturday night and into Sunday afternoon, but all in all Chattooga County did not experience any major problems.

Commissioner Jason Winters told AM 1180 on Sunday afternoon that there was some localized flooding in some areas that are prone to flooding like Hair Lake Road, but overall things remained in good conditions.  No roads were officially closed over the weekend due to the rain.

Chattooga County residents reported rain fall between 1.5 and 3 inches in about a 14 hour period on Sunday.

Early Monday morning the National Weather Service in Peachtree City, GA issued a Flood Warning for the Chattooga River.  Flood Stage, which is 14 feet, was reported around 1:00 AM Monday morning.  At 5:15 Monday morning the Chattooga River stage was around 14.7 feet which is considered minor floodstage.
