The Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary that took place last week on Poplar Springs Road in Lyerly.

According to a report released this week, the overseer of the property received an alert on his cell phone around 4 AM on August 31st indicating a break-in.

A deputy responded to the property and spoke with the overseer who said that two of the doors to a building had been kicked in and a wall was torn down to gain entry into the main part of the building.

The report indicated that several household items appeared to be missing.

The case has been turned over to an investigator and evidence has been sent to the crime lab for analysis.
