A big day is planned in Lyerly on February 6th to let folks know about Severe Weather Awareness Week. Organizers with the Town of Lyerly plan a day of events that will include a special sounding of the newly installed tornado siren.
A special speaker from the National Weather Service will be on hand that day in Lyerly. Barry Gooden will be speaking at 11 AM at the Lyerly Town Hall. The Lyerly Fire Department will be selling food that day as well for a fund-raiser.
AM 1180 Chattooga County Radio will be onhand for the event – broadcasting live from Lyerly from 10 AM until 1 PM. Also, Lyerly Mayor Jessica Eller will be in the AM 1180 Studios next Wednesday morning to talk about the event.
