A well-attended, annual event has been canceled due to the City of Summerville’s decision to cancel all activities for the foreseeable future.  Lyerly United Methodist Church has held a car show in Summerville for over a decade, but the decision has been made to cancel this year’s event.

On Tuesday, Lyerly United Methodist notified WZQZ with the following announcement:

Unfortunately, Lyerly United Methodist has had to cancel its 12th Annual Car, Truck, Motorcycle Show and Craft Festival that was scheduled for Saturday, August 15, due to the coronavirus.  The City of Summerville has cancelled all festivals and the train arrivals for the summer.
They plan to be back in Summerville in 2021 for their much loved and attended car show.  Thank you all for your understanding.
