The Georgia State Patrol has issued several charges against a Lyerly woman after a wreck on Highway 48 near Peach Orchard Road.  According to a report released on Thursday by the Georgia State Patrol post in Rome, 20 year old Haley Jordon Elrod was charged by Troopers with DUI for Drugs, No Tag and Failure to Maintain a Single Lane.

The report said that Elrod was travelling on Highway 48 when she left the roadway and struck a concrete driveway.  Elrod told Troopers she had been hit head-on by a green car, but Troopers say that there was no evidence that another car hit the 2009 Chevy Sports Utility Vehicle driven by Elrod.

Elrod and a passenger, 27 year old Michael Kirby of Summerville, were transported to Floyd Medical Center by Chattooga County EMS for non-life threatning injuries.
