Chattooga County Sheriff’s Department deputies arrested a Lyerly Woman earler this week after she allegedly pushed down her elderly mother-in-law rendering the woman unconscious. According to the incident report, when officers arrived at a Tennessee Avenue address they were told that 41-year-old Kimberly Joy Hatcher, of Oak Hill Rd., Lyerly, had argued with her husband and the argument escalated to a physical fight. Hatcher is alleged to have thrown a pogo stick at him before breaking his guitar. The husband’s parents reportedly arrived at the home where Hatcher is alleged to have continued her rampage by lashing out at the elderly couple. Officers reported they tried to calm Hatcher down once they arrived but she continued to yell and curse them the entire way to the jail. A 9-year-old autistic child reportedly was in the home when the incident occurred. Hatcher was charged with Simple Battery- Family Violence Act, Battery against a person over age 65, criminal trespass, cruelty to children, simple battery, simple assault, assault/battery, and damage to property.
