A Cartersville, Georgia man was arrested after police say he committed a armed robbery and stole two vehicles.
Thirty-nine-year-old Alex Bernard Joiner, who has previous convictions for armed robbery, is accused of stealing two vehicles at gunpoint from two different women on Friday morning in Floyd County.
Gordon County officials were notified to be on the lookout for Joiner. A Gordon County deputy spotted Joiner on the Highway 53 spur in Calhoun and gave chase. Joiner crashed the vehicle he had stolen into another vehicle near the Calhoun Post Office and was taken into custody.
Joiner is facing charges in Gordon County of felony Fleeing and Attempting to Elude Law Enforcement Officers, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and a number of other traffic-related charges. He will face additional charges in Floyd County in relation to the armed robbery and carjacking.
