41 year old Rome resident David Lee Holt was arrested earlier this week after being accused of choking a woman in front of children.

Reports said that Holt cut off the airway of the victim.

Police added that while they were attempting to handcuff Holt, he tried to escape custody.

He is charged with aggravated assault, obstruction of law enforcement and third degree cruelty to children.
