A man alleged to have wrecked the vehicle he was driving because he was hitting his girlfriend is now facing charges. .

 

According to the report by the Chattooga County Sheriff's Department, a woman called E-911 and said she had wrecked her vehicle and was injured. She also said that her boyfriend had hit and kicked her. The phone disconnected during the call and it is thought the boyfriend took the phone away from the woman.

 

Georgia State Trooper Jamie Mitchell was first one the scene and located the couple and arrested 27-year old Randy Albert Martin, of a Dry Creek Road address.

 

The woman reportedly told officers that the two had argued and Martin struck her on the mouth with his open hand. When Martin allegedly hit her, he reportedly lost control of the vehicle, causing it to go down an embankment and hit a fence. She said he then exited the vehicle came to the passenger side, kicked her in the stomach and walked away. The woman had a cut on her bottom lip and a muddy foot print on her sweatshirt, according to the report, However, she refused to write up a formal statement describing the events and told officers she would not testify in court. Due to the physical evidence, officers decided to charge Martin with disorderly conduct.
