A Rome man was arrested after being accused of pointing a gun in a Floyd County business and making threats.

51 year old Shawn Nevin Dempsey of 35 Ashley Oaks Trail, was arrested Sunday night just after 9:00 at 3680 Martha Berry Highway, after allegedly pointing the gun at several people inside a strip mall.

Dempsey was reportedly a passenger in a vehicle when the threats were issued.

He has been charged with three felony counts of Terroristic Threats & Acts with Possession of a Weapon during the Commission of a Crime and with three misdemeanor counts each of Simple Assault and Pointing a Pistol at Another.

He was additionally charged with Reckless Conduct, which is a misdemeanor.
