A thirty-two-year-old man was arrested last Thursday by the Summerville Police Department after he allegedly grabbed a woman by the throat at a residence on Rainbow Trail.  According to a report released yesterday by the Summerville Police Department, police responded to a call about a domestic incident in progress.  When they arrived, a white car was seen backing out of the driveway.  The car pulled back in and the driver got out and spoke with police.  The man told police that he and his fiance had gotten into an argument and he was trying to get away from the situation.  When police spoke with the woman, she said that the man had grabbed her by the throat and pushed her.  Evan Tyler Ellis was arrested on charges of simple battery under the Family Violence Act and was booked into the Chattooga County Jail.
