For the second time in less than two weeks, a man was arrested for public intoxication at a local gas station.

Shortly before 9 PM on Saturday evening, a Summerville Police officer stopped at the Kangaroo Gas Station on Commerce Street to make a purchase.  While in the store, sixty-six-year-old Halbert Lawrence Robinson approached the officer “in a belligerent manner”, according to the police report.

Another officer arrived on the scene and as the two policeman talked with Robinson it became apparent that he was heavily intoxicated.  Officer said that Robinson could not answer their questions and appeared to be incoherent.

Robinson was arrested and charged with public intoxication.
