A Summerville man was arrested over the weekend when a small accident lead to the discovery of the man being under the influence.
On September 18th, Officers were dispatched to Highland Avenue in reference to an automobile striking a power pole.
On scene Officers observed the vehicle off the roadway resting against a broken utility pole. The driver of the vehicle, Jadarius Price admitted that he was traveling about 50mph and swerved to avoid hitting a cat in the road. While speaking with Price, Officer noticed the scent of alcohol and after admitting to drinking, Officers performed a portable, Alco Sensor test, that came back as positive. Despite stating that he had no injuries, Officers placed Price under arrest and had him transported to Floyd Medical Center for further evaluation and a blood test.
Price was later transported to the Chattooga County Jail without further incident.
