A fifty-one-year-old Menlo man was arrested for DUI shortly after midnight this past Saturday after he passed a sheriff’s deputy while flashing his headlights.

According to a report from the sheriff’s office, the deputy was traveling towards Summerville on Highway 48 near the Menlo Barn Dance when he saw a vehicle flashing its headlights.  The deputy turned around and followed the vehicle back to Peach Orchard Road and initiated a traffic stop.

When the deputy spoke with the driver, identified as Corey Djuan Perry, the driver said he didn’t realize he had been flashing his headlights.  Perry also admitted to having drank liquor before driving.

Perry was arrested and transported to the Chattooga County Jail on charges of driving under the influence.
