A fifty-six-year-old man was arrested on drug possession charges after a traffic stop last week in Summerville.  According to a report from the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy observed a vehicle pulling out of the the Circle K gas station lot that had a tag light out and dark tinted windows.  The deputy initiated a traffic stop, but before the vehicle came to stop, the deputy noticed something thrown from the window.  The deputy made contact with the driver and the other occupants of the vehicle and informed the driver of the reason for the stop.  The driver was issued a citation for window tint. The deputy then asked all of the occupants about the bag of suspected crystal meth that was thrown into the highway.  William Evan Ackley claimed that the drugs were his and was arrested on possession of methamphetamine charges.  On the way to the jail, Ackley told the deputy that the drugs weren’t really his, but that the others in the vehicle said that they would “kill him” if he didn’t claim the drugs.
