A fifty-one-year-old man was arrested last week for passing a fake $100 at Mountain View Grocery Store.  The store owner contacted the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office after he found that the phony money had been used to purchase $30.50 worth of cigarettes and was then given change.  The bill said “For Motion Picture Use Only” and “In Props We Trust”. Deputies spoke with the suspect, Billy Ray Hill, at a McGinnis Circle, Summerville address about the fake bill.  Hill at first tried to tell deputies that his bank gave him the phony money and then said “some girl” gave it to him.  Hill was arrested and booked into the Chattooga County Jail on charges of first degree forgery.
