A Ringgold man is behind bars in Catoosa County after allegedly driving drunk through Fort Oglethorpe with three young children in the back seat of his car. Boyd Lynn Blackburn, age 46, was arrested Sunday night, on three counts of child endangerment, DUI, and a tag light violation. His bond was set at $7,630.
Officers pulled over Blackburn’s 1994 Honda Civic on Cloud Springs Road around 6:30pm, after observing a faulty tag light.
While gathering Blackburn’s information, officers also observed two female children in the back seat, as well as an infant in a car seat; Blackburn reportedly admitted that he had been drinking, saying he’d had three 25 ounce beers prior to driving.
Blackburn failed field sobriety tests and was arrested for DUI and endangering the children in the car with him.
The youngsters were turned over to family members, while Blackburn was transported to the Catoosa County detention.
