A Rome man wanted on burglary and theft charges is also facing obstruction charges after he tried to elude arrest on Friday night.

According to a Floyd County Jail report, 28-year-old Roger Callahan of a Cordle Drive residence is accused of taking 12 spools of copper wire from a Westside Industrial Boulevard business on November 30 of last year.

On December 3, he allegedly cut copper leads from 11 electric motors and took the copper, causing more than $150,000 in damages.  He is also accused of taking several motors from outside of the business on January 10.

Callahan refused to open the door for deputies when they arrived at a Lindsey Drive residence to arrest him. He then refused to put his hands behind his back.

A woman who was at the residence, identified as 29-year-old Allison Leigh McCleod, hid under a pile of clothes  Deputies said in jail reports that 35-year-old Tamela Dawn Brown hid in a dryer of the residence.

McCleod and Brown have been released from jail on bond on misdemeanor obstruction charges.
