Nicholas Campbell, 26 of Woodstock, has been charged in connection with 

the death of a 24 month-old baby. 

Reports said that emergency responders were called to a home late 

Thursday and was told that a ‘child was not breathing’. The toddler, 

Ciara, later died at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.

The infant, who is the daughter of Campbell’s girlfriend, was said to have 

multiple injuries, but police did not elaborate on the degree or types.

Following interviews with Campbell, the infant’s mother and grandmother, 

Campbell was arrested and charged with four counts of cruelty to children 

in the first degree, four counts of aggravated assault, four counts of 

aggravated battery and possession of meth, Baker said, adding more 

charges could be levied following the autopsy scheduled for Tuesday. 

The case remains open and ongoing.
