Police say a Rome man slammed a woman to the ground and injured her face and then held her against her will when she tried to run away.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Frederick Sinclair Decoster, 56, of 516 Calhoun Ave., is charged with felony false imprisonment and misdemeanor battery.

He was being held on a $5,700 bond Tuesday.
