A Rome man is accused of assaulting women during an incident that happened early Friday morning.
According to Floyd County Jail and Rome police reports, police were told that 28-year-old Tyrus Devon Spivey of a Gordon Avenue residence was pursuing a vehicle and fired shots at the occupants.
The four women who were in the car told police they were at a North Broad convenience store where they saw Spivey beating on a pregnant girl.
They tried to stop Spivey but Spivey began attacking them and then he pulled out a gun, according to the women’s statements to police.
Spivey is charged with two counts of battery, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and three counts of aggravated assault.
