A sixty-three-year-old man broke down crying and told a Chattooga County Deputy that he was “just and old man” and that he never got in any trouble, right before he  admitted to being on probation for methamphetamine possession and producing a bag of drugs.

A deputy was patrolling on Highway 27 near the Walker County line this week when he saw a vehicle loaded down with scrap metal that had a test drive tag.

While speaking with the driver, identified as Dannie Ray Wallin, the deputy noticed that the man had bloodshot, red and glossy eyes.  The man admitted to having methamphetamine and handed the deputy a small bag with a crystal-like substance.

Wallin was charged with possession of methamphetamine and driving with suspended or cancelled registration and booked into the Chattooga County Jail.
