A man arrested in January for statutory rape and contributing to the delinquency of a minor has now additionally been charged with child molestation.

According to a warrant on file at the Floyd County Jail, 21-year-old Menfis Carmelino Perez of a Conn Street address in Rome allegedly had sexual intercourse with a child under the age of 16 at a Martha Berry Highway motel on January 19.

He remains jailed with no bond.
