A unknown man reportedly threatened a clerk at TJ's Package Store in Lyerly, and waved a gun outside Saturday evening.

 

According to the Sheriff's Department report, employee Mathew Dye said just before 7 p.m. a white male and female entered and a short time later approached the counter demanding he give them something free. When Dye refused them, an exchange of words took place.

 

The couple reportedly left and the man entered and reportedly told Dye after being asked to leave that would "catch him out."  The man reportedly went outside to a white Chevrolet Blazer and began waving his arms in the air and proceeded to show a handgun to Dye and the other people inside the store. The vehicle reportedly had a Bowman's Auto Sales tag and provided the temporary tag number to officers.

 

The incident was turned over to investigators.
