Sheriff’s investigators with the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office responded to a theft call last Thursday at Walmart. Debra Gray told a responding deputy that she had taken her groceries out of her buggy and was headed to her vehicle when she realized she had left her pocketbook in the buggy.  When she went back to get it – the pocketbook was gone.

Security footage from Walmart revealed a man taking the pocketbook from the buggy and going into the men’s restroom.  The suspect exited a short time later and pushed a buggy towards the dog food aisle.  Footage then shows the man leaving the store without making any purchases.

Ms. Gray’s pocketbook was found in the men’s restroom.

Investigators are looking for a white male that was wearing a camouflage cap, transition lens glasses, a gray t-shirt, blue jeans and had on black and white shoes.  The suspect left the store in a white car – possibly a Buick LaSabre.
