A seventy-five-year-old man was struck by an oncoming vehicle and killed while crossing Battlefield Parkway the evening before Christmas Eve.

According to reports, Donald Wayne Warren was crossing the busy highway to eat at Golden Corral in Fort Oglethorpe when he was struck by a west-bound vehicle and was killed.

The Georgia State Patrol identified the driver of the vehicle as Leonard Mayes, who was driving a Jeep Liberty.  The accident happened shortly before 7 PM.

The Georgia State Patrol in LaFayette is investigating the tragic accident.
