The Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call about a stolen vehicle on Thursday of last week. Deputies went to Dry Creek Road to speak with the complainant, identified as Raymond McHan. Mr. McHan told deputies that he had picked up a woman in Dalton on March 18th and that she had been staying with him, because she “needed a place to stay”. On Thursday, while Mr. McHan was in the shower, his 2012 Jeep Liberty – and the woman he picked up in Dalton – were both gone when he came out of the bathroom. Mr. McHan suspected the woman might go back to Dalton, but was not sure. The incident was turned over to an investigator with the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office. The Jeep has a tag number of “YFX622” and has been listed as stolen.
