A traffic stop for a seat belt violation resulted in a felony charge for a 41-year old Acworth man late Saturday.

According to Floyd County Jail records, Michael Dwayne Brookshire was stopped at Shorter Avenue and Horseleg Creek Road.

Police discovered that he had an active warrant for a probation violation.

Once at the jail, a small package of marijuana was located by the booking officer.

This resulted in a felony charge of crossing the guard lines at the jail with drugs.

Brookshire was also charged with less than an ounce of marijuana as well as the seat belt violation.
