The search for a wanted criminal in Cherokee County, Alabama has been called off. Authorities believe that the man they were looking for has left the area.
According to authorities David Dean Stoner is no longer believed to be in the Cherokee County area, the BOLO which out for Stoner was cancelled at approximately 2:30 Friday afternoon by the Cedar Bluff Police Department.
Stoner fled on foot from authorities following a traffic stop early Wednesday.
Law Enforcement conducted a manhunt in the Antioch area – in the vicinity of Curly’s Cove off of County Road 44 in Cedar Bluff – all day and into the evening on Wednesday – and resuming Thursday, without success.
He was last seen wearing a gray t-shirt and jeans.
A female companion of Stoner’s was taken into custody on Wednesday morning, shortly after she attempted to flee the scene.
Stoner is reportedly wanted in Tennessee, Georgia, and in Alabama on charges relating to the Burglary of homes and automobiles
