According to Sheriff Jeff Shaver the Cherokee County Sheriff`s Office Narcotics Unit dismantled a significant marijuana growing operation over the weekend, which resulted in the arrest of three people – with possibly more arrests to follow – as the investigation continues.

64 year old Michael Allen Poole and 45 year old Timothy Bradford Poole were charged with the trafficking of marijuana and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

21 year old Cody Allen Poole was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana second degree and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

Centre Police Officer Will Clark who is assigned to the Sheriff`s Office Narcotics Unit – initiated this investigation based on information received from the public.

Clark along with other investigators such as Justin Kinny of the Alabama Forestry Commission – utilized electronic surveillance equipment, to help in identifying those responsible for cultivating and harvesting the marijuana plants between the Sandy Creek and Rock Run communities.

Agents recovered a significant amount of marijuana in addition to currency, a vehicle, an ATV, a utility trailer, and items used in the marijuana growing operation.
