Voters in two Chattooga County municipalities will be voting for a mayor one week from tomorrow. Lyerly and Trion have contested mayoral races. Menlo Mayor Theresa Canada and Summerville Mayor Harry Harvey are unopposed.
In Trion former Trion Mayor and current councilman Lanny Thomas will be facing off against retired businessman Larry Stansell. Stansell has also served on the Trion Town Council in the past. Mayor Johnny Ingle chose not to run for re-election.
In Lyerly incumbent Mayor Josh Wyatt will be facing off against Lyerly resident Glen Hill.
The election will be held next Tuesday with polls open from 7 AM until 7 PM.
Residents in Trion, Lyerly, Menlo and Summerville will also be voting on council seats in next week's election.
