Former Chattooga Indians football standout Jack McCutchins has gotten his chance of proving himself on a college level. McCutchins, a 2008 graduate of CHS, signed a letter of intent to walk on at the University of West Alabama. He will get on the squad this fall and be up for a scholarship in January based on his performance and progress this season. McCutchins, a two-time Rome News-Tribune All-Area defensive back, also played quarterback and receiver and was in almost every play for Chattooga, including special teams. As a senior, McCutchins recorded 34 solo tackles, had 22 assists, and intercepted three passes. On offense, he had 490 rushing yards, 687 passing yards, 127 receiving yards, and scored 7 touchdowns.  (Rome News-Tribune
