The Menlo area dumpsite is set to close Tuesday, March 30th at 5:30 pm. It will be several months before a new dumpsite is available again.

The long used dumpsite does not belong to the county, and after the landowners informed the County that they would be selling the property, a search began for a new site.

According to Commissioner Elsberry, some land has been promised for a new site however it is still several months out from being setup. In the meantime the area residents have the option of utilizing the transfer station in Summerville, or traveling to one of the countys’ other dumpsites.

The Commissioner is still searching for a dumpsite in the Gore-Subligna area as well. The last site there closed in 2016.
