Menlo Fire Department has received a grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency. FEMA announced the grants yesterday given to Fire Departments all across the nation to improve their equipment and facilities.
Menlo Fire Department will use the $35,758 for turn out equipment used in the case of search and rescue and fighting forest fires. Earlier this year Menlo Fire Department Received a grant from FEMA in the amount of $75,943 for the purchase of a "brush truck".
Nationally, this week’s grants total nearly $49 million. The AFG program includes three kinds of awards: Fire Grants, Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) grants and Fire Prevention and Safety grants (FP&S).
