Work has begun on a new facility at Menlo Elementary School.  The newest addition to the Chattooga County School System’s buildings will be replacing some of the oldest buildings still in use in the county school system.

A groundbreaking ceremony is planned for tomorrow, February 15th at Menlo School.  The school system released the following statement on Friday of last week:

The Chattooga County Board of Education will have an official groundbreaking ceremony Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Menlo School.

According to historical records, the first school in Menlo was built around 1893.  Parts of the current facility date back over seventy years.
