Customers who get their water from the City of Menlo are being advised to boil their water for drinking and cooking.
Sid Swords with the City of Menlo told AM 1180 Chattooga County Radio that the city water system had a bad sample on Monday that was caused by human error. Swords said that under new EPD rules the water system must notify local media if they receive even one bad sample, even if subsequent samples test fine.
Swords said that some time tommorrow morning around 10 to 11 AM the boil water order will be lifted. Swords told AM 1180 that there was no serious problem with the water system and that the bad sample was caused by human error.
