A man wanted in Alabama and the driver of a vehicle with a bad taillight were arrested last Thursday after a traffic stop on Highway 114 near the Raccoon Creek Bridge.

According to a report from the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy spotted a vehicle driven by fifty-four-year-old Harold Delmus Rutledge that had a taillight out.  While speaking to the driver, the deputy noticed that Rutledge and his passenger were acting nervous.  After running information on the passenger, it was determined that there was a warrant out for his arrest in Alabama.  Authorities in Alabama asked that a hold be placed on Cody Wayne Aycock.

The sheriff’s office K-9, “Dendy” was dispatched to the vehicle where deputies found a zip-lock bag underneath the pickup truck that contained methamphetamine and digital scales.  Another bag was found with marijuana and yet another baggie was found with more methamphetamine.

Rutledge was arrested and charged with possession of a Schedule I drug, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug related objects and traffic offenses.

Both men were booked into the Chattooga County Jail.
