Looking for something different to do?
If so the Friends of Sloppy Floyd organization has an event coming up guaranteed to please all ages. AM1180 recently spoke with Alisha Cavin who informed us those taking part will enjoy a hot dog dinner before paddling out to enjoy the sunset, then return by moonlight.
That’s set for Friday, April 22nd. Everyone should meet at the Sloppy Floyd Pavilion #4 at 6:00pm (that’s across from the park office).
It’s important to stress that the park has a limited number of kayaks and canoes which are being offered at a discount rate of only $10 for this special event.
You’ll need to make reservations as soon as possible by calling (706) 238-0115.
Safety equipment will be provided to make sure this fun family-type gathering is absolutely appropriate for all ages. You are also welcome to bring your own kayaks and canoes.
The Friends of Georgia State Parks is an organization of 50 chapters made up of volunteers interested in promoting the natural beauty of the great outdoors through similar events all through the year.
