WZQZ News reported that Branden Scott Barnett, age 29 of Summerville, was arrested for a hit and run earlier this week.  Information from Floyd County indicates that the arrest was in connection with an accident that occurred on August 5^th in Floyd County.

Reports said that Barnett struck another vehicle in the rear while they were stopped at the intersection of Ga 1 and Ga 140.

The victim stated that after hitting her in the rear Barnett got out and spoke to her.  However, Barnett went back to his car and fled the scene.

Barnett is charged with hit and run and following too closely.
