The National Weather Service briefed local officials on Sunday afternoon about the weather situation for Northwest Georgia. The local officials at the meeting included Chattooga County Public Works, Chattooga County EMA, Chattooga County Sheriff’s Department and Commissioner Jason Winters.
The weather service said that events have changed significantly since Friday of last week when the weather outlook was indicating the possibility of a major winter storm. Now it appears that the event will be mostly rain for Chattooga County and Northwest Georgia.
The National Weather Service is saying this morning that a rain and snow mix is possible over North Georgia on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings, otherwise rain is expected Tuesday through Wednesday. The end of the week looks to be dry and sunny.
