A movie sequel is returning to Northwest Georgia this fall, and producers are looking for local children to appear as extras.

“The Farmer & the Belle 2” will film scenes in Walker County, continuing the story of a New York City fashion model who falls in love with a childhood friend and farmer. In the sequel, the now-married couple compete in their own ways to save a historic farm camp.

Producers are currently seeking extras for a scene scheduled to be filmed Saturday, October 3, at Camp New Dawn in Walker County.

Children ages 5 to 16 are needed, with the greatest need for youngsters between 5 and 11 years old. Producers are seeking children of all ethnicities. Hair and makeup should be natural, and no facial tattoos are permitted.

The scene will be set in the 1980s, so those selected will need 1980s-style clothing in spring and pastel colors. Additional wardrobe instructions will be provided.

Call time is scheduled for 8 AM, and extras should be available until 5 PM, although producers expect the scene could wrap several hours earlier. Applicants are asked to provide a current photograph and indicate their comfort level working around animals.

This isn’t the first time the production has come to Northwest Georgia. The original “The Farmer & the Belle: Saving Santaland” filmed in Walker County in 2019. The Christmas movie is currently available on Amazon Prime.

Walker County is also a certified Georgia Camera Ready community, a state designation designed to help film and television productions connect with local locations and resources.
