Chattooga County School Superintendent Jimmy Lenderman told AM 1180 that a change in plans with the new Chattooga High School building could save the school system around $1 million.
In a Newsmakers Interview that will be aired tomorrow Superintendent Lenderman said that by changing the plans and moving the new structure at the current property, it would distance the new structure from Highway 114 (the Lyerly Highway.) That move could save a substantial amount of money because it would mean that barriers required by the Georgia D.O.T. would not be needed. Also it would avoid a lot of what Superintendent Lenderman described as "dirt moving and bulldozer work."
You can hear the complete interview with Superintendent Lenderman on Monday morning following the 8 AM Newscast and again in the noon hour following the trading post program. We will post the interview to our blog after it has aired on the radio so you can listen at your own convenience.
