State Sen. Jeff Mullis (R-Chickamauga), chairman of the Senate Music Oversight Committee, took part in the 30th Annual Georgia Music Hall of Fame Awards Show on Saturday, September 20, 2008.  He was honored to present an award for the late Dottie Rambo, Grammy award winning gospel singer and songwriter.

“I was pleased to present the award in honor of Ms. Rambo,” said Sen. Mullis.  “Her words of inspiration, faith and love through gospel music have touched the lives of people all over the world.  She will be deeply missed, but her words and legacy will live on.”

Friends of Georgia Music Festival and the Senate Music Oversight Committee decide each year who are inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame. Past inductees include Lynyrd Skynyrd, Gregg Allman, Alan Jackson, Travis Tritt, Ray Charles and Trisha Yearwood.  The annual Atlanta gala supports Friends of Georgia Music Festival’s mission to nurture the music industry in Georgia and also funds the organization’s annual scholarship program, the Georgia Music Talent Search , which assists future musicians, songwriters and composers in pursuing their musical passions.
