State Senator Jeff Mullis is supporting the announced Senate Government Oversight and Senate Judiciary Subcommittee meetings scheduled this week.

“Due to a number of alleged discrepancies brought to the legislature’s attention following the general election, I believe a thorough and robust review of our election procedures is necessary to avoid similar issues in the future,” Mullis said.  “I believe these hearings will shed some light on potential inefficiencies in our elections system and highlight areas of possible future improvement.”

Mullis said he plans to introduce legislation to improve on the elections process and ensure that only legal votes are cast and counted.

Mullis’ fellow-Republicans, Governor Brian Kemp and Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger have stood by the integrity of Georgia’s election process.

Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger said Wednesday they have seen “no substantial changes” in the state’s election recount and expects to re-certify President-elect Joe Biden as the winner.
