It now appears that what was originally believed to be a case of murder in Walker County is instead being considered a case of self-defense.

A man died after being involved in an altercation with another individual, at a home located on Orchard Avenue, which is near Hutcheson Medical Center.

Both men were taken to the hospital, with 54 year old Tory Creek dying there and the other man has since been released.

Investigators now believe that Creek was actually the aggressor in the fight, which began as the other man reportedly tried to intervene in a dispute between Creek and his wife.

The survivor, who has yet-to-be identified, isn't facing any charges at this time although the incident remains under investigation.
