About 3,500 people die each year of unintentional drownings in the United States, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website. More than one in five are children 14 and younger.  On Wednesday of this week a Chatsworth toddler drown in a pond near his home.  The child was under the supervision of his father and wandered off to the pond where he liked to throw rocks.  The child was found in about 5 feet of water according to reports.  Aiden Hammondtree was 22 months old.  The body was sent to the state crime lab for an autopsy.  Officials say the drowning was accidental.
