Authorities have identified the woman killed in a three-vehicle crash in Adairsville Monday morning.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 7:45 a.m. on Highway 41 at Manning Mill Road in Bartow County. Initial indication is that a silver Nissan Altima was stopped westbound on Manning Mill Road at a stop sign. A blue Mercury minivan was traveling northbound on 41 in the left lane.
The Altima entered the intersection and attempted a left turn toward 41 southbound. The minivan struck the Altima’s driver side with its front. After impact, the minivan rotated and struck the front of a Bartow County School bus with its passenger side. Between impacts, the rear passenger in the minivan was ejected and became trapped between the school bus and minivan.
The driver of the Altima, Chelsey Chapman, 20, of Adairsville, died on scene.
The three occupants in the minivan were transported to Floyd Medical Center with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the school bus was not injured and there were no children on board.
The report has not been completed.
